Moon Dance- Danza de la Luna.

The Moondance is a four day ritual in which women come together in a ceremonial circle for four nights to pray for the well-being of humanity, to feel the feminine essence amplified within, and to cleanse and empower both their bodies and wombs from generations of oppression and neglect.

The circle of the Moondance (“Danza de la Luna”) is the Heritage of an ancient tradition that gifts us the legacy of grandmother from all corners of the earth, like grandmother Isabel Vega and Tonalmitl, who are both founders of the first circle “Danza de la Luna Xochimeztli” which originated in Mexico in 1992.

Ancient chants, dance and prayer lead the ceremony of the circle working with the four directions over a four year commitment. Leading the women towards recovery of strength and empowerment for the divine feminine.

From year 2013-2017 I committed to the path of the Moondance in Costa Rica. For the majority of this time I lived in Costa Rica so I could stay close to the grandmothers pursuing the calling of the path of the red road.

I am forever grateful for this weaving of prayer into my heart connecting me with the ancient ways of sweat lodge, the dance, the pipe, the tobacco, the songs, the prayers and the copal (incense resin from Mexico). That continues to guide me in my offerings in the world.
